A recent client sought out our translation company for the conversion of her educational website from English to Khmer. She had been working on an educational project in Cambodia and was looking to leave a legacy after her time in the country came to an end. She already had a project website in English, so wanted to convert it to the Cambodian language in order that it would be useful to those still working there after she left.
Khmer translation is often called for. With between 15 and 20 million speakers, Khmer is the second most spoken Austroasiatic language (only Vietnamese has more speakers). It is the official language of Cambodia, as the native language of the Khmer people.
Website translation and educational translation both require excellent linguistic skills and a keen eye for detail. Thankfully, with more than 5,000 professional translators in our network, Tomedes has plenty of resources when it comes to finding the perfect translator for each job.
Our leading Khmer translator, based in the Camodian city of Phnom Penh, was available to start work immediately, so instantly got to grips with the client’s request. We always seek to use natives of the target language in this way, as our experience has shown that this makes for a higher standard of translation.
The translator’s experience included a number of website translations from English to Khmer, so we knew he was the right person to meet this client’s needs. He worked swiftly and diligently through each page of the site and even noted a couple of typos on the English site so that the client could ensure that version was perfect too.
The client was delighted with the professional translation service she received. The quality of the translation was top notch and the translation price was well within her budget – another satisfied customer!
