ENGLISH TO JAPANESE DATABASE TRANSLATION

There are around 125 million Japanese speakers in the world today and Tomedes is often asked to translate documents from English (and other languages) to Japanese. We maintain a bank of translators across Japan, with a huge range of career backgrounds and experience, in order that we have the right person for the job, regardless of the subject of the translation. 

We were recently asked to undertake a detailed translation job of a company’s database. The company provided us with the data in Excel spreadsheet format, ready for it to be converted into Japanese. The client wanted the translation to be provided in all three of the Japanese writing systems – Kanji, Katakana and Hiragana. 

We set to work finding our three most appropriate translators to undertake the work. We put all three in touch with each other in order to maintain consistency, then set each to work on a different writing system. This allowed us to use their combined expertise to produce precisely what the client was looking for, and all in record time.
