A new client contacted Tomedes the other day, stating that she had been referred to Tomedes by one of her colleagues. The new client wished to have some patents translated, and she emphasized the importance of having an accurate translation: although the different patents had very similar content, some of the minor differences between them could have significant ramifications if translated incorrectly. The client couldn’t afford for any mistakes to be made.
Mary Ann from Tomedes explained to the client of some of the quality checks that Tomedes implements, such as having the translation proofread by another translator, and offering a 1-year guarantee to all completed translations. Further, Mary Ann clarified that only the most competent translators would be selected for the role, and that a translator with experience in the same filed as the original documents was preferential.
Mary Ann’s reassurance, along with a competitive quotation for the translation, pleased the client, who decided to go ahead with the translation. Mark, the English translator chosen for this role, was familiar with working on patents, and had developed the ability to consistently spot small differences between similar documents.
The completed documents were returned to the client and she was happy to discover that the translation was completed before the agreed deadline. After checking the documents with another colleague, the client remarked that the subtle differences between each document had been translated accurately.
The client thanked both Mary Ann and Mark for their work, expressing an interest to continue their working relationship in the future. Tomedes is proud to work with some of the best freelance translators in the world, and Mark’s meticulous nature serves as a good example of the quality and attention to detail that clients can expect when working with Tomedes.
